Navigating Wallet Balances and Postings in Console

The Console UI provides a structured and layered view into your ledger's financial data, starting from charts, down to accounts, wallets, and individual postings. Find out how to access and interpret wallet balances and the related transaction history.

1. Start from the Ledger Balances Page

Go to Ledger > Balances to access an overview of all configured charts.

  • Each row shows:

    • Chart name

    • Number of accounts

    • Creation date

  • Click the arrow icon (→) next to a chart to view its accounts.

Use filters (top-right) to narrow by creation date, chart/group type, or to search by wallet/account. Alternatively, you can also switch to Group view to view the same details for Groups.

2. View Accounts Within a Chart

Once inside a chart, you’ll see a list of all accounts under that chart.

Each account row shows:

  • Account name

  • Tags

  • Number of wallets

  • Creation date

  • Status (e.g., Open)

Click the arrow icon (→) next to an account to view the wallets and view aggregated balances.

  1. Account Balance Summary

On the account view, you'll find a breakdown of balances by currency:

  • Total committed: Settled value across all wallets in this account

  • Shows totals per currency (e.g., GBP, EUR, USD)

  • Based on the as-of timestamp in the top-right

A table lists all wallets under the account, with details:
